CHARACTER NAME: Wasabi
CHARACTER AGE: 20-ish
SERIES: Big Hero 6
CHRONOLOGY: Immediately after the final battle
CLASS: Hero
HOUSING: Throw him anywhere
BACKGROUND:
Big Hero 6 @ wikipedia
Wasabi @ Disney wiki
Wasabi is one of a group of secondary characters in the film. He's introduced when Tadashi, in an attempt to inspire better goals in his brother, takes Hiro to visit The San Fransokyo Institute of Technology. There, Wasabi and the others of Tadashi's friendship circle display their scientific prowess and help Hiro discover the secret awesomeness in being a total nerd. (Wasabi himself demonstrates his work with laser-induced plasma, and has constructed a device that cuts an apple into paper-thin slices.)
Continuing his supporting role throughout the film, he befriends Hiro and assists with his project for the SFIT expo. When things go awry and Tadashi perishes in the fire at the expo, Wasabi and the others try their best to comfort the distraught Hiro. Their concern eventually leads them to discover Hiro's attempts to corner Yokai, the man responsible for the fire and the theft of Hiro's microbots. After a chase that doubles as a near-death experience, the group decides to arm themselves collectively and assure Yokai's capture together. Wasabi's plasma experiments are developed into gauntlets with retractable blades that can cut through just about anything.
After a few hiccups that get fixed with some team bonding, the group participates in a final battle that leads to the arrest of Robert Callaghan and the rescue of his daughter from another dimension. It is from after this battle that Wasabi will be pulled into the world of Mask or Menace.
PERSONALITY:
Wasabi likes to keep both of his feet on the ground (in both the metaphorical and literal senses). Of the members of Big Hero 6, he's the most cautious, never wanting to dive into something that he doesn't understand or to attack without a plan. He greatly prizes cleanliness and order, to the degree where he's at least neurotic if not bordering on OCD. (His work table, for example, has a precisely-outlined place for each of his tools, and he seems genuinely uncomfortable when anybody touches them or moves them out of place.) He's easily disturbed and easily riled, and his reactions are very open and often very exaggerated. He chases Gogo, ranting, when she steals one of his tools, he nearly barfs when Fred reveals his underwear-related habits, and he shrieks when he thinks he's going to be crushed by a shipping crate. He seems to have little ability or little care where it comes to general stoicism.
That's not to say, however, that he's freaking out all of the time or that his cautious tendencies can't be overcome. When there's no stimulus to stress over, Wasabi seems like a pretty chill guy. He's well-prepared, always ready to offer help to others, and he has a practical, supportive outlook. When his friends are in trouble, he's capable of stepping up without a plan and against his wariness to try and make the situation better. This may be best seen when he challenges Yokai after his other teammates fumble themselves out of their initial confrontation. Though he honestly doesn't accomplish much in this situation and his bravado isn't convincing, the important thing is that he tried.
Overall, Wasabi is a big nerd who runs on honesty. In both his faults and his virtues, he's easily read, and his eccentric habits are balanced by his dedication to his work and his friends.
POWER:
Power Suit: Wasabi's superhero gear features green armor complete with protective Eyewear and a communication link-up to the rest of the suits in the Big Hero 6 set. Of course, the important bits are his gloves, which house plasma blades that can cut through virtually anything.
Probability Manipulation: A subconscious ability that only applies on a personal level, Wasabi will possess a knack for performing unlikely feats and getting out of sticky situations. This will mostly apply to situations where his desire for order and cleanliness is concerned. (For example, somebody might knock a cup of coffee off of a table nearby and Wasabi's attempt to catch it before it spills would prove successful. Or he finds a five dollar bill while cleaning. Stuff like that.) Any conscious effort to manipulate situations in his favor will prove fruitless, making the ability useless for, say, gambling and the like. As long as he goes with the flow, he's gonna have some uncanny luck.

[ The image here is of a large, well-kept young man, dressed in a green t-shirt with his dreadlocks tucked back behind a yellow headband. This is Wasabi. He smiles a little nervously and waves hello. ]
Hey, there. I'm new. Or at least new-ish. Now that I've officially given up on trying to work out how all of this was engineered, I figured it was time to introduce myself to the general populous of my fellow kidnapped individuals.
So yeah. I'm Wasabi. That's what people tend to call me, at least. Normally, I'm a student at the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, but seeing as how that doesn't exist here... Well. Maybe I can cheat a little and just say I'm a physicist. Applied physics.
So maybe you can see why getting here threw me for a couple of extra loops. A lot about this world and the travel to and from it is amazing, but also supremely terrifying. It's a weird combo, and it's even weirder to consider that nobody around here seems to be able or willing to explain it. Maybe that's not here or there, though. I'm getting ahead of myself.
So. Right. Just in the way of ice-breakers, if anybody could recommend a good restaurant or two, that'd be great. Bonus points if anybody knows a good sushi joint. And remember: the sanitation grade counts for a lot.
I'm also taking suggestions for getting mysterious monster slime stains out of clothing.
